Seeking Storytellers
Call for Content: Do You Want to Write A Story for Our Blog?
Are you a natural storyteller? If so, The Women’s Foundation of Colorado wants to hear from you.
From #metoo to equal pay to access to birth control, there is never a shortage of issues impacting women’s economic security to discuss. Similarly, there is never a shortage of diverse women’s stories and experiences to share.
Using our voices is one of our most powerful tools for change; not only is it incredibly empowering, storytelling creates shared understanding, new connections, and amplified awareness.
Seeking storytellers
Specifically for this reason, The Women’s Foundation of Colorado launched a new blog in April with our redesigned website. As the only community foundation in the state focused on helping women and their families thrive, we strive for inclusive representation of community voices from across our state on the issues that matter to women. We seek storytellers of all ages, races, ethnicities, abilities, and identities to share their unique perspectives.
Because The Foundation has so much information to share our staff will write most of the articles. However, we want and need women and girls of Colorado to add layers to the issues and fill in the spaces with their stories. Could this be you?
Guidelines for submission
Because space is very limited, we ask that you follow the guidelines below if you submit your writing. Your article:
- Should focus on an issue that women in Colorado should know about
- Can be a personal story
- Should be between 300-500 words
- Must be submitted with a photo of you
- Cannot have been published elsewhere
We hope to hear from you! Please submit all proposals via this Google doc. You will receive a response within a week or two from our team.
