Meet Delaney Lindner, WFCO Digital Marketing & Communications Intern

Three young women smiling together in a Colorado mountain forest. They're wearing casual hiking attire with tank tops and caps, standing arm-in-arm against a backdrop of pine trees and golden foliage. The sunlit forest creates a warm, natural setting that showcases their enjoyment of the outdoors.

Delaney Lindner joined The Women’s Foundation of Colorado as the digital marketing & communications intern in January 2025. Growing up in Minnesota, the “State of Hockey,” Delaney brings her team spirit and dedication to supporting women’s prosperity and gender equity. She believes that when women thrive, we all thrive, and envisions a Colorado where women are respected and appreciated in all facets of life. Read on to learn more about her hockey background, musical inspirations, and more!

Tell us something not many people know about you?

It’s been a while since I last hit the ice, so not many people know that I played hockey for ten years! Growing up in Minnesota, the ‘State of Hockey,’ I spent most of my days (and my nights) at the rink.

Why is supporting women a top priority for you?

Supporting women is a top priority for me because when women thrive, we all thrive, as women’s prosperity makes our society stronger. I believe in a world where women are given access to the resources and opportunities they need to succeed, and where gender, racial, and economic equity continues to advance and empower women everywhere.

What is your vision of equity for women in Colorado?

My vision of equity is that women everywhere are seen and treated with respect, care, and appreciation in all facets of life. I would love to see women be wholly recognized and respected in the workplace, the classroom, and society as a whole without being discounted because of their gender identification and other intersecting identities they may hold.

What do you believe is the most pressing issue women and families are facing in Colorado?

I believe that access to affordable and available health and child care are some of the most significant issues facing women and families in Colorado today. The gender wage gap compounds these issues for women and makes it increasingly difficult to access these crucial resources.

Who is your Shero? Who have been the leaders/mentors on your journey?

My mom Michelle, my grandma Leigh, and my aunt Alisa are my Sheros. My grandma devoted her career to helping children and families in times of hardship. Her dedication to her community, passion for advocacy, and love for her family has always inspired me. My mom cares so deeply for everyone and everything, and she has led by example my entire life on how to put others first and offer support wherever and whenever possible. My aunt always reminds me to see beauty in the smallest things in life and appreciate each experience to the fullest, and together, these three are an inspiring team and will always be my Sheros.

If you had to teach a class, what would it be?

I’d lead a seminar on how music can be a catalyst for self-discovery and expression.

Where do you find the most joy in your life?

I find the most joy in my life when I am in the mountains with the people I love. I love how being out in nature makes me feel so small in this big, wide world— it’s a great reminder to be where my feet are and be present.

What would you tell your 15-year-old self?

Experience all that life has to offer, enjoy where you are, and keep growing out your bangs!

What is your favorite place or activity to do in Colorado?

My two favorite places in Colorado are Eldorado Canyon State Park and Red Rocks. If I could spend every day outside in the mountains and every night at a Red Rocks concert, I would!

Favorite guilty pleasure on Netflix?

Anne with an E.

Pineapple on pizza or no?

Absolutely.
